US Challenge: Improve the presentation of school report cards

Choosing a school for your child is no easy task. It’s a veritable minefield out there and reading dozens upon dozens of mostly textual, multi-page school reports is time consuming and often confusing. Which is precisely why US-based educational body, The Foundation for Excellence in Education (ExcelinEd) has launched a design challenge for US data visualizers to reimagine today’s school report cards and make them more accessible.

My School Information Design Challenge offers prizes totalling up to $35,000 for designers who employ the latest strategies in data visualization to effectively reimagine the appearance, presentation and usability of school report cards. The deadline for submitting entries is October 17 and you can find full details of the challenge on this dedicated website.
