The Return of the Big Screen by Yingyu Liu

In 1984 Apple introduced Macintosh for the first time. In the 1984 ad, the big screen, which was presented as a metaphor for collectivism and censorship, was broken down into small individual screens, stating an age of freedom brought by personal computers. Yet with the rise of right wing and white supremacy in the US recently, it seems as if the small screens are coming together, bringing back the big screen, and forming a wave of extreme force that starts to tear our society apart.
