The Afro-Brazilians by Icaro Bernardes
This work is inspired by a similar poster by W.E.B. Du Bois. It shows links between slavery ports that dispatched people from Africa toward Brazil. The thickness of the line is proportional to the number of people sent overseas.
Between 1551 and 1875, at least 3.5 million Africans were forced into migration and labor in Brazil. War, poverty, and disasters keep this unwilling diasporic movement going on.
