The History of 6+ Magnitude Earthquakes in Years 1900-2013 by Marcin Pielużek

Earthquakes are one of the most common natural phenomena. Most of them are unnoticed by humans because they have low magnitudes. However, the massive tremblors can be devastating and deadly to people and animals. Based on United States Geological Survey data, the visualization shows the location, strength and depth of all earthquakes with a Richter scale of six or greater recorded worldwide between 1900-2013. It offers the overall picture and focuses on the regions most prone to tremblors. The visualization is interactive.
