Lisboats by Alessia Musio

On my flight to Lisbon, ready to start a new exciting, but scary experience alone, I sketched this idea I had for a handmade data visualization in my notebook. From that first moment, I kept updating the dataset every day for six months. Every little paper boat it’s a receipt: at the end of my experience, I put them together to understand how my feelings were related to the field in which I spent my money. To me, it’s much more than a dataset to keep track of the number of expenses I had: it tells my story and emotions during one of the most beautiful periods of my life.
