The Shape of Corporate Inequality by Bloomberg Businessweek
In the year after the Black Lives Matter protests, many US corporations promised to improve their record on diversity. Bloomberg obtained EEO-1 forms from 37 of the nation's 100 biggest companies, showing the race breakdown of workers across job categories. Reading from left to right, we often see the strong presence of Black and Hispanic workers in what are considered non- and semi-skilled professions become smaller or disappear as we reach the managerial and executive ranks for individual companies. Reading down, we can see how disproportionately Black and Hispanic workers are concentrated in non-managerial positions across the board.
