Detentions during anti-war protests in Russia by Viktoriia Vasiukova

The project was part of the course on Data Visualization and Information Design by Federica Fragapane. The data was collected from Russia’s well-known human rights project’s website, OVD-Info (https://reports.ovdinfo.org), as of March 13. Although they themselves do such reports and data visualizations, I was curious to do something myself by combining and comparing detentions data from different time periods.
The number of detainees is illustrated in the form of windows of a Russian prisoner transport vehicle, chosen for its similarity to the waffle chart. The number of cities involved in the protests is shown as its wheels.
