Adding comments - human readable descriptions - to code is good practice when writing code in any programming language. However, different programming languages use different symbols to indicate a comment. This visualisation, in the style of early computer display screens, explores which of the most popular programming languages use which comment symbols, and shows how long each of them have been in existence.
