The Age of Animals by National Geographic Magazine
Some animals live for spans once thought impossible, others die off fast, and a handful appear to age hardly at all. The bowhead whale, for example, can survive more than 200 years despite the risk of predation, famine, and disease. Here we show the correlation between weight and longevity generally across three groups (mammals, birds, fish) and specifically by selected species type.
