In 2018, 15-year-olds were tested in science by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's Programme for International Student Assessment (or PISA). Children in Canada scored a mean of 518 compared to 502 in the U.S. and 419 in Mexico.

This trend has held since 2006, suggesting Canada's curriculum as the one to model.
