Beyond the Bottle: Consumption Disparity & Curbing Plastic Waste by National Institute of Design

Water is a basic human right, but even today over 2 billion people worldwide don't have access to safe drinking water. Some countries have easy access to drinkable tap water while others have to heavily rely on commercial means that are 150 times more expensive. Despite having drinkable tap water, many people still choose to consume bottled water. Out of the top 50 consumers of bottled water, 29 countries already have access to drinkable tap water.
