OVUM – pollution shaped by Muthesius Kunsthochschule
The dramatic fact that herring gulls are an indicator for the pollution of the marine ecoystem is made visible. Interactive data sculptures were generated from the measured values of toxic substances in herring gull eggs from the German bird islands Mellum, Trischen and Heuwiese. As an augmented reality installation the virtual objects create a direct comparison of the pollution between the three locations and the four exemplary pollutants from around 1988 to the present day through interaction.
