The Donor Gap - Raising Women’s Political Voices by Graphicacy
The Donor Gap project, developed by Graphicacy for the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University, set out to draw attention and depict the divide between men’s and women’s political funding. This interactive platform explores three key areas - Donors, Candidates, and Opportunities - through a scrollytelling narrative and dynamic visualizations. Using color-coded data representations and engaging animations, it illustrates how women's political underrepresentation correlates with funding gaps. The project provides value to multiple audiences, including media, donors, candidates, scholars, and political organizations, transforming complex research into an accessible resource that supports the key message that women, when better funded, can win races and gain parity.
